I feel as though while officials are conducting polls well, and most importantly, fairly, there needs to be a structured system for how polls are dispensed and maintained. This bill outlines the gaps that we as a region have encountered, and seeks to mend them for the benefit of our great citizens.
For fair democracy to be maintained, certain measures must be taken to ensure that the integrity and fairness of our election system remains protected. Implementing these safeguards will help ensure a fair and honest tomorrow.
Realizing that:
A. NS game mechanics only allow for one poll at a time
B. Election officials have thus far handled their responsibilities well
C. Despite this, risks still remain to our election mechanics
D. Certain measures are needed to significantly mitigate risks to our system
E. All our citizens deserve the right to not only participate in our elections, but be subject to a fair and honest system, with good safeguards
Entreating that:
A. The Union of Saxon-Justice adopt the following guidelines to help protect our voting system:
I. All polls must be set to a standard duration of 72 hours/3days where citizens may vote
II. Individuals poll duration, for a particular poll may be extended by executive order to a maximum voting period of 168 hours/7days, in which the president may order, and the WA Delegate must approve of
III. Under no circumstance (except clause IV) may any poll's voting duration dip below 72 hours/3days
IV. Polls can be ended early, if and only if, a predetermined and prescribed quorum is reached before the poll's deadline
V. Under no circumstance, with no exceptions, may a poll be set below the standard duration of a 72 hours/3days voting period
VI. If a poll is running on our NS region site, but another must start, any additional polls will be held in the appropriate area of our forums, where all citizens are encouraged to register and participate
VII. Everything ie. rules, procedures, duration, etc. will be the same for polls on our forums, except for the locations in which they are held
Hoping that:
A. The guidelines in this bill will protect the voting system that our wonderful citizens participate in
B. This bill will responsibly regulate all polls, so that they may be fair and honest for our citizens
C. Our region will see increased turnout, and trust in our election system, that our citizens so deserve
D. Fair elections will continue to reign as the heart of our democracy. For all Saxon-Justicians now, and tomorrow.
Hereby enacts legislation to better the election system of our great region
