I. Repeals
II. Reinstatement of amended (2 U.C § 12) Restriction on Political Campaigning, 1.28.17
- (2 U.C § 16) Term limit 4.10.17 sets term limits for offices, which should be a constitutional matter, and Congress should not be able to control the term limits of other offices.
- (2 U.C § 17) Impeachment clause 4.11.17 again, should be a constitutional matter, as Congress should not be able to dictate terms of impeachment since it applies to them as well.
- (2 U.C § 18) New boarder policy 4.20.17(3) would be in violation of (1 U.C § 9) Power of Border Policy Act, 1.5.17 if it were concerned with border policy, but it is not. It also outlaws "merging" with other regions, which is a referendum matter. Again, overreaching legislative authority.
- (2 U.C § 19) Healthcare 4.22.17 violates Article I, Section VIII of the Constitution: "All citizens, regardless of any circumstances, whether they be chosen or given, shall be given free healthcare until death. Only legitimate healthcare coverage will be provided, that is essential to the health of an individual, with a few exceptions. This does not include dentistry, orthodontics, plastic surgery, weight management, unnecessary medications, and STI treatment."
- (1 U.C § 7) Cannabis Legalization Act, 12.18.16 for the reasoning provided in the original repeal:
- The law in question was written by an inactive member who has since ceased to exist.
- The optionality clause renders the purpose of this act void as nations can choose to not participate
- The phrase "marijuana is currently illegal" is incorrect in its assertion as no legislation regarding cannabis had previously been drafted
- If legislation on medical cannabis is to be drafted it should not be done so with the baggage of recreational cannabis
II. Reinstatement of amended (2 U.C § 12) Restriction on Political Campaigning, 1.28.17
- (2 U.C § 12) Restriction on Political Campaigning, 1.28.17 is crucial in cracking down on political corruption, by keeping members of the government focused on the present and not on campaigning.
- This is not a violation of political freedom, as it does not have any affect on any individuals rights to speak out on political matters.
- Changes:
